I can't decide between a Bl22 and a SA22.

I've never owned the BL22, I've had a few SA22's. I love the SA22 but I like being able to feed the BL22 everything.

Someone flip and let me know how it comes out

I had a BL22 that had a trigger so bad a friend of mine was going to shoot it one day, stopped half way through the trigger pull and asked me where the safety was at! It went down the road and I've never seen any reason to gamble on another one.

I just looked at one(BL22) the other day. Sorry to say I didn't pay closer attention to the trigger. But, the quality compared to the Henry sitting next to it seemed worth every cent.

The first Rifle Dad bought me as a Child was a BL22. I loved it and had no problems with it at all. I got very good at rapid firing it because of the short throw lever. All I had to do was open and close my fingers to cycle it, and I had small hands.

I think the Browning sa22 is the best looking .22 ever made. High quality in and out and one of John Browning's proudest accomplishments. Both are first class rifles.

Still on the lookout for a Belgian made SA22. Should have never traded the one I had.

The SA-22 will drop empty cases down your shirt sleeve if you're not careful. That can be uncomfortable, so I'd go with the levergun.

I've got an old Remington M24 (same basic design as the Browning) and it never fails to drop at least one down my sleeve every time I monkey with it. I like it a lot, but I like NOT getting burned by a fired case better.

Because you asked for one simple task. Just flipped a 1999 quarter dollar. It bounced around perfectly on the kitchen island top.. Coin spinning, my blind ass patiently waited..........

It was heads

EXACTLY why I don't like the Browning SA or the Remington 24/241 clones that Remington build under license from FN.

I have always thought that there was one top shelf lever action .22 rifle, the Marlin 39 family.

I've owned Marlin, Mossberg, Remington, and Winchester rimfire lever guns, but it is a niche that I have limited interest in. I had a 9422 with the WinTuff laminated wood, but it didn't speak to me, so I traded it for two Winchester 275s and a 255. I've never owned a Browning rimfire lever gun, just a few BLRs chambered in 257, 284, and 358 that didn't stick around for too long. Not a real fan of straight grip stocks if there is a pistol grip option.

I used to burn trash and saved the cut-out lids of 55 gallon drums for my kids to plink at. At 100 it sounded like, puhh, wait, wait, wait, wait, TINK....... My youngest's nickname while shooting was stinky-puhh-tinky.....

Well that was about as much fun as a man can stand. I brought it home and ran a few tubes of CB shorts through it. Pine cones fell from trees, rocks flew and flies died.

Used to fold the rear sight down, and shoot bumblebees. Points real good. Gave it to the granddaughter. Sure is a nice rifle.

Nice gun. I still kick myself for selling an FN Trombone and SA pair that I picked up in Canada. That little Trombone was slick.

I've put about a brick of ammo through it so far off the back porch. I love the little bastard.

I'd not mind a peep sight for it, but it still works fine as is.

I just got a henry small game rifle in .22 mag with a peep sight. I love peep sights. I love it so far but the quality isn't as nice as your gun. I love the engraving, very nice rifle.

Get new or old? Bro has an old std BL. Used often to bag a limit of squirrels using those CCI shorts. I have shot a best friends 39. Owned a 9422 that felt Wrong w a scope so off that came. Dumped a few squirrels with it iron sights. Both well made but the BL seems Sized for a 22. Short throw as all

Yes the pull wt. Is a PIA but I still HIT well with one.

A BL is on my bucket list. No Pun wink

Enjoy your BL

Both are nice guns. The BL22 is my favorite of the 22LR lever guns. The short lever throw and beautiful wood and metal finish are top notch.

New.

Took out a few pine cones yesterday. So far all I've been shooting has been CB shorts and shorts.

Did you get the base Grade 1 blue or satin receiver? The G2 are alright, but not my idea of a field piece personally. I do like the octagon model that was out in the past. The "Shorty" looks interesting but the 20" already is...and holds more ammo.

Those shorts are quiet Deadly, one of the members here apparently dropped a few hogs, wild not ground...

I have a Browning trombone that Mom bought for Dad in 1948. All original except the metal follower for the mag tube. He ran so much ammo through it that the metal wore out, so he crimped an empty casing into the mag tube. I learned how to shoot on that little rifle, and so did my two daughters.

Scott ........ You are going to grow to love that BL 22. I bought a used one for my youngest daughter, and she impresses me with her marksmanship. Darn thing shoots great, cycles great, and quickly.

That's what I need to do. Did a quick search and I'm not personally gonna even try messing with it.

SLM, the 3-4 stage creep isn't so bad but the final pull required to fire is ridiculous.

Put about 50 round through it earlier today. Offhand and off the hood, you don't really notice the trigger when shooting.

Fun little fuucker for sure.

Now I'm gonna have to find out what a Fastfire is....

The elevation was factory set at the lowest point and high velocity 37 grain were hitting an inch or two low at 30 yards.

Skosh to the right as well with the Winchester hp's.

Moved it up 3 bars and now pretty close.

I'd forgot how much fun 22's are to shoot.
(10" plate hanging a branch, shooting at corners)

And you can rip through 15 rounds pretty damn quick with that little short throw lever!
