I havent been trapping too many years, but this was the worse year I have ever had. So, I got to thinking about the things that have changed, since I started.

The first and probably most important thing is that I am trapping on the same property this year that I did last year. Last year was a good year, so I think the numbers just wasnt there, this year. For example, I took 26 coyotes off our place, last year... this year, 4 coyotes. Last year 4 bobcats and 5 foxes... this year, 0.

The trapping on a friends place has been ok. 8 piggys, 8 coyotes, 2 bobcats, several coons and possums. We caught more piggys, but less of everything else.

Weather could have played a part in it, but I'm not sure. I know flooding has hurt, but that's only been the last week or so and things were bad before that.

We've definitely saw more deer this last season and there is lots of deer sign out there now, so this is a good thing and predator control is really what got me into trapping in the first place.

Oh well, traps are pulled and maybe the fishing will be better this year.

Sorry you've had a bad trapping year. Haven't noticed much posting from you and thought you might be at your Dad's helping. Did he have flooding problems?

Larry, Dad didnt have any problem with the flooding. They didnt get the rain in S. Ark. that they got along I-20. Where the river jumped 10+' in Monroe, it just rose 2.5' at Felsenthal.

Sounds to me like you have been quite successful on cleaning critters on the home place. Good Job!

I have a spreadsheet on trapping.
Worst year ever.
