Look's like this old girl has had a tough life, bore and action are supposed to be vg. Have already found some better wood. Just hope the tang is screwed up.

If that were mine I would remove the tape and repair the stock at the tang whatever it takes. There is some good wood repair products now days. Then I would raconteur the lever and clean the old girl and take her to the woods and see how many more character marks I could give her. Few guns are used to the extent this one has. I would never remove the character someone worked hard to apply.

The rifle is in the mail.
I hoping the tang isn't screwed up.
Found a used stock for it, will likely just replace the butt stock .
Plan on just cleaning the metal, leaving the character.,and add a receiver sight.
Would love to know the history , this rifle can from one of the Maritime Provinces in Eastern Canada.
