So, it has me curious. Is it just me, or are they not very popular? Could this be because or there price, or because they are just an acquire taste?

Who loves em' and who hates em'?

I love 'em. Of the six I had only one would not keep all its bullets inside one MOA; except for my 6.5mm wildcat. It was the second .340 using 250 Partitions and always good for about 1 1/4". I love the action and I love the stock shape and I love the light weight of the six lug model.

I inherited a .300 and a .257 that my father bought in Germany in the late 50's. I really like them!

Love them or hate them, they are part of rifle Americana just like Rem 700's M70's, M94 30-30's etc.

The 280 Remington is overbore.

The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

I'm a Weatherby user, currently own five of them. Most consistently accurate rifles I've ever owned, not one has ever failed to deliver. I can appreciate if some don't care for their looks, but performance-wise they're excellent rifles. Their ammo is expensive, then again I haven't bought factory ammo in a while.

A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”

Price was my initial issue. Now that's not a problem.

I've owned four, still have three (2 Ultralights in 06 and a stainless fluted in 300 WBY), all three shoot very good, killed 8 elk with the 300!

The Mark V is still on my wish list. I've owned a Vanguard and it was a great rifle, but one of my friends wanted it. I currently own two rifles in Weatherby cartridges, 257 & 240, both are customs built on Pre-64 Win 70 actions.
