Took me forever to get this bird to take a nap beside this Ingram blush

Congrats, sometimes they're hard to tame down enough for that pose. Wonder if Gene has any mosaic pins with turkey tracks? smile

Purty! Having just acquired my Westy Slim it hasn't seen use yet. But it's gonna get used a bunch (hopefully!) this year.

My Kingfisher and B&T twins. The Kingfisher also has a tapered tang. Gave one of the B&T's to my son.

I asked him that very question a year or two ago. He tried to find some for me but could not locate any.

Very Pretty knives Guys.

Gene just sent me a message tuesday saying that my next one would be ready to ship next week. I am excited to see this one.

Oh, BTW, its a YellowJacket wearing Westy scales.

My YellowJacket gets a lot of use. Great little pattern and Westinghouse should set it off nicely.

Third down from the top is an Ingram Bullnose. Use it often and really enjoy the design.

Nice batch!

I'm still longing for a Phil Wilson knife. Smokes Creek or a B&T would make me very happy. Too bad he's in hiding......

Thank you.

Phil's home burned to the ground in the wildfires last year. So, he is facing that major life challenge, but he is still making some knives. The edge retention on his knives is extraordinary - part design, part steel selection, and unparalleled heat treat. I need to start a thread on his work.

Ingram's work is top notch as well. Just different styles and feel to each.

I have 4-5 of Gene's along with a couple Geno Denning's and enjoy both makers work a lot.

I did know about Phil's fire; we talked and emailed after the fire a few times but he never committed to building me a knife. A couple people said you had to really stay on him to build you a knife. That's not my style though.........

Phil made me one in about three weeks a couple of years ago. I happened to catch him before he sent out a few to heat treatment. I didn't care for it, can't recall the model but the blade was about 2" wide, he promised to make me a 3.5" B&T. I gave up checking up on it after the fire.

2" wide, yikes! Sounds like a bush knife.

A 3.5" B&T would be great. Have him make two if you have the pull..... laugh

Small boner
#4 b&t
#7 drop point
Bare bones

I'm not sure what he calls the bottom one, I think pocket hunter. He made a few of these after his four wheeler accident to "practice" before he started back on his work log. He emailed me if I wanted any and I picked up a couple.

I only have the one by Gene. One of his fixed blade Sodbusters, made to my request, with an especially large handle. He called it the "big boy Sodbuster". It has done yeoman like work on both deer and hogs.

Jeff, the Ingram Bullnose... does it have Westinghouse micarta Handle?

If so, I'm wondering if you "ambered" it more by putting it in the sun. I've been told it can be done with UV over a couple weeks. Maybe it's just the lighting, but it looks more amber than the other Westinghouse Micarta handles on this thread.

I like it!

Yes, a Bullnose in Westinghouse micarta. Have not done anything to it other than use it to clean a bunch of cull deer and pigs. I'll try to remember to take a photo of it outside tomorrow in bright natural light.

Brad,
my computer gave out so limited to using the phone. Here is a photo against a shop towel that seems to convey the color fairly.

Don't know if that's a "raise" but it's surely as good! Beautiful knife...

Finally used mine to break down a little buck last week only to discover the size of Gene's #2 semi cramps my hand after a bit of use.

Putting this one up for sale. frown
