just north and west of the palouse. the rootys were mixed in too.

Great going there! We can get focus on flying birds backgrounded by the sky, but seems damned near impossible if they're below the horizon. First grabs me as well.

Maybe offer up your camera setup or approach please?

That first pic of the quail, is breathtaking.

Not been doing much lately, but Cookie caught a Greater Sandhill Crane working on a nest in the reeds this AM. Nothing for scale here, but there guys are about 5 to 6 ft tall.
