Not at all, I have. I like the taste of charred meat on the grill, not charcoal on my steak.

If you had tried it you would KNOW that is not the case.
Or in other words …if a piece of charcoal sticks …knock it off …do not eat it.

My old campcraft book called them "Tarzan Steaks".

Great way to cook pork chops also.
Does NOT dry the meat out ….great flavor.

I've cooked them that way. Not as good as on the grill grates IMO and leaves too much of a char for my taste.
