I need a scope for my White Super 91 .451 rifle. I am considering a Nikon Inline 3-9x40 scope which I assume replaced their Omega model. Has anyone used one of these? Any other suggestions on a scope?

I'm about to buy a CVA in-line. I'll be putting a Leupold VX-2 on it.

I don't think I'll have any shots ever over 125 yards. For that distance I don't need any range assist reticles.

I ordered the Nikon so I will see how it does.

It is a good scope, but I don't like Nikon's circles for holdover. It is pricier than their normal scopes too. I prefer Burris's hashmarks over Nikon's circles. If I use anything other than a duplex, I just use the Burris plex and calibrate the hashmarks for my load.

Yeah its basically the new version of the Omega. I wish they made it in duplex as well as BDC. Its a nice scope if you like BDC, tons of eye relief.

For a 200 dollar scope, it's sturdy and dependable. Mine has even slipped & fell 3-4 times, while setting it against a tree to pee and it's never left zero. Throws a little more light at dusk and dawn too.

It's the next step-up from a Nikon Prostaff and I've had the Prostaff on my REM 7400 .270 for 12-13 years, before crapping out from being bounced around too much. That one I paid only $129 for it.

I don't understand paying $400 for an old-schol-type scope for deer hunting..... not during legal hunting hours anyways. I can adjust to various circles and dots that different manufacturers use. The more expensive 400 dollar models crap-out too, from being bounced around.
