Anyone have one? Opinions? Looking to pick up an AR in 9mm for both practice, shoot ability and nice to have a rifle in the same caliber as my pistol.

I looked pretty hard at pistol caliber carbines for a couple of years, and wound up with a .300 Blackout AR.

I expect the Wilson will be very well made, and the configuration - flat top with rail is my preference. If it was important to you to use the same mags as your Glock, S&W, Beretta, then it should be fine. Just expensive.

There's a number of 9mm carbines/uppers out there that work well and cost a lot less, if you just want a casual plinker.

Consider a different platform, a Beretta Storm. They are better suited to shooting the 9mm and they are extremely accurate...

USPSA and 3 Gun Nation are allowing pistol caliber carbines now and there seems to be some excitement about them. Maybe we'll see some market innovation soon.

Already seeing a trend toward dedicated systems such as the sig and scorpion instead of AR pattern pistol carbines. The sig is miles ahead of the scorpion but it should be for twice the price.

Something to think about when getting an AR that uses high capacity pistol magazines. Those magazines are kinda fragile when sticking out the bottom of the mag well. Take a dive to prone position and whack the mag on the ground and the floor plat is going to come off, and you're likely to kill the mag. That's why SMG magazines are made so robust. The Colt 9mm magazine really is the best one out there for 9mm AR's.
