I wanted to put in a plug for a really good taxidermist, Grant Gullicks of Eagle River AK. His company is Wild Reflections. I should be getting this in early May, he wanted to display it at the Wild Sheep Foundation Banquet on April 30th in Anchorage. He's donating a shoulder mount as part of a hunt package raffle, which I think is outstanding. His work is not bad either:

PS, that's tissue paper in the nostril, wadded up to hold the shape while it dries.

Great job!

Nice sheep. Nice mount!

That takes me back a lot of years. I used to work for a large LTL trucking company. We shipped a lot of heads for a local taxidermist. One time he called me and asked how tall our trailers were. One of his customers had sent him an Alaskan moose that he wanted as a full body mount - with the front feet on a hump, no less. He estimated that it would be something like 11 to 12' tall. 14' is the legal maximum trailer height. It wouldn't fit in any kind of trailer we had. It would likely have to be crated and shipped on a lowboy trailer.
I don't know what they ended up doing.

Thanks and yep, got just the spot. While I still have some of the meat we can have some friends over and they can see what it is that they're eating. That'll be interesting.

Wow. I"ve used them, they have been disasters for me. Thats why we went to plastic bags. But then everyone does it their own way.

sure am happy you got him and are getting the mount back.

I'm working on the moose this weekend I shot in 2014 finally. Still have 3 bow bucks around 135-140 and one rifle buck around 160 that I just have not had time to mess with.
