Next Saturday starts our turkey season and I'm really looking forward to it.

I was on the back porch before sun up this morning. Lots of gobbles around. Some really close, some distant - but I heard enough to make me smile.

My son turns nine today and this will be his first "real" season. He's hunted with me a few times, but he'll be a constant companion this year. That makes this season even better!

I'll hunt with friends too. Probably drink a few beers and eat well for the next few weeks.

I'm going to pattern a couple of guns today, load some more TSS, hang around with the birthday boy and cook a little with dad later.

It's going to a good day...and another great season!

Tomorrow morning for me - good luck to you and your son!

Its off to a great start! I killed a bird yesterday morning, but that wasn't the highlight of the day. My son killed his first bird yesterday afternoon! That makes me happier than anything I'll do this season.

He was super excited. It was a neat hunt and something I'll remember forever. I was all smiles too...

He's begging to skip school tomorrow morning, but I'm not giving in!

He'll get more opportunities next weekend.

Hey, congats on a good and memorable hunt. It doesn't get any better than that. Two questions though----how many turkeys can you shoot there? Also, what is with that thick green grass and leaves on your trees?

Really nice!

Can you buy loaded ammo with the tungsten shot, or do you have to handload it?

The TSS can only be handloaded...
