I'm primarily a LM Bass & cat fisherman. The lake I fish has a lot of docks & stump beds & average crappie fishing. I have many bass/cat rods & reels but am looking for a cheap UL crappie combo for myself & grandkid. Not sure how much use this combo will get so I'm looking at Cabala's Bargain Cave which has the Fish Eagle spinning combos on sale. Do I want the 6' rod with a rated 1/8-1/2 lure wt. or the little 5' rated 1/32-1/4? I might add that I'm primarily a casting reel fisherman with a few spinning outfits when I go lighter, but never UL. I know this is a lower quality combo, but since I may use only occasionally seems to be a good starter outfit. Input appreciated.

I agree, went today, caught a few Crappie and assorted panfish, the shorter lighter the rod, always the higher the Fun Factor I use several when fishing to have different set ups, and always go back to the shortest one for the Fun of it.
