Stop by my favorite gun shop today and the owner had took a 99 in on trade. It is a 250-3000 with a 24" barrel with a checkered capped pistol grip butt stock with a no savage logo plate and a checkered schnabel forearm. It's not a takedown. The only trouble is someone D/T it through the savage model 99 and they drilled a hole in the forearm for a sling even though there is a sling holder on the barrel. Besides that it's a nice looking rifle. I didn't write down the serial number but I think it is 550,000 to 600,000 range. So I guessing it's a EG.

It could be a great shooter, mine is, but that price is a bit steep for the described condition, and my tastes.

It's my sadness right now. He sold the 250 I should have bought "which was all orginal" on GB and now has this EG that looks nice except for the non-factory d/t job and hole drilled in the forearm. SADNESS

7 big bills for a buggered 250 EG is way too much. Especially with holes in the metal.
