If you look at the Hunter in 6.5CM on Europtic, they say it is expected in May.

Since it is the same barreled action, I would think the Montana would be similar.

Just like we're telling customers on the phone, we have no idea when they'll arrive. We had no notice of the 308 Hunters arrival -- they just arrived. Kimber could do a better job of communicating with us so we could relay accurate information to customers, but that's not their style. It kinda pisses me off too.

The 6.5 Hunters won't hit the shelf. As soon as they come in, I'll start a thread here. I'll give members here the first shot, same as with the 6.5 Montana's.

What if someone made a smooth thread cap that was flush with the barrel. Little loktite for good measure?

It's brilliant, we get to pay extra for something most won't want, then get to pay to whack it off.

Pure genius.

Really glad they included a threaded barrel with a thread protector. Gives us options.
Brilliant!!

Yes, I know Ted. You and Brad follow every Kimber post on the board repeating over and over again how much you dislike it. I'm certain Kimber management is about to cave - keep it up!

Your wrong.

Brad is a Kimber fan and owns several and has owned several more.

I currently own 2

K22 Classic red pad and an 84M 7-08...Both are pre 2004 two position safety NY made

I have only owned 2 others but with those last 2
I won't say there will never ever be another Kimber purchase but not likely....they product is appealing but the customer service is not.

But adding threads to the muzzel isn't what I want....ymmv

One day I might find a 8400 Montana in 7 WSM

Ted,

I know you and Brad are Kimber fans, sorry my post wasn't clear. I was referring to your and Brad's dislike for the threaded muzzle.

3 port tank brake on this 84L Montana

30-06 180 grn Accubonds over R22 @ 2820 fps

Very little muzzel lift and hardly any felt recoil

But man oh man look at that muzzel blast!!

Is your issue the fact it hurts when you go all "Mapplethorpe" with it?

Nobody is forcing you to pay for anything. Not hard to find a used one, but I think you just wanna complain about something.

Definitely not interested in a brake, just hoping to find an easy solution to the fugly thread protector. Probably will buy a Montana in Creedmoor, if anyone actually ever sees one.
