My son used the Glock. Those heavyweight shells are too dang expensive. For those who don't have these demons around where you hunt, it is a cottonmouth /water moccasin. Very aggressive and poisonous.

Thankfully, we don't have poisonous snakes where I hunt turkeys, although rattlers are in our county.

That is a good watery-mouthed cotton moccasin. Dead!

What area, of what state were you hunting?

That area will be crossed off my list permanently.

That's a bad snake. Cottonmouths are in my area but not in the big timber of the national forest where I hunt turkeys. Just rattlesnakes and copperheads in the big timber.

Good job nailing that one! Down east here we have plenty of them in the swamps, creeks, and ditches. My "big three" when run & gun turkey hunting are moccasins, fire ants, and poison ivy - look good before you sit!
