I saw a few Glocks for the $300 range which is all I would pay. They are good for projects. Most of the Glocks I feel are overpriced.

Police departments seem to get new pistols every ten years. I don't understand why...
That being said, I've bought several Beretta 96 Centurion pistols. All in good working condition

police department, at least some, get various monies appropriated to them as part of a budget, use it or loose it. thus, the new toys. The ways of government are not mine to question. Like the day my at the time son in law went to ben avery and burned up a ton of ammo from the navy reserve center he was working at, because it got past a certain date. And i was unhappy they didn't save the brass for me.

They sell the brass as scrap most of the time I think. Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna always has a bunch of trade in Glock's and usually some Smith and Wesson's too. www.advout.comMike

I was associated with the local Sheriff's here for about 20 years.
At one point in time they decided to move from dept issued firearms to giving the employees a firearm allowance.
The local dealer that stocked the firearms for the S.O. sold off their inventory of G17's to any county LEO.
I bought one. Kind of a cool keepsake as it has the Maricopa County SO's badge stamped into the slide.
Sometimes you can find a great deal. Whether new or used.

Along time ago I bought a used police S&W M-13. It is pinned and recessed and was my primary carry gun for a long time. I still have it. If I was going to be limited to one hand gun I would be taking a hard look at this one.

I have a lot of police trade ins. Like most guys here say, shot a little, carried a lot. I have an old nickeled .38 Special Colt revolver that looks brand new and is marked "Detroit Police." Look new and shoots great. My Sig 9MM is of the West German variety and is my favorite 9.
