One more year. My yard will give yours a run for its money.

Having cameras at the ready has really made the world smaller.

It fell, well partially, in June 2014. It was a hackberry.

Steelhead, that was a loss of some beauty to the yard and a great loss of shade to mention only a few benefits. powdr

I miss looking at it and the shade. Of course hackberry are messy trees. I'm still contemplating my 'next move.

The tree to the port side is an elm and that's my deer hanging tree.

Having had trees fall on about everythign we've owned over the years, and as mcuh as we need shade 9 months of the year....

I hate trees that don't have at least a 50 foot buffer to anything valuable..

One spring evenign I parked our tractor under an elm. Getting off I listened to the weather and with storms coming, I went back out and parked the tractor out in the pasture about 100 feet past the tree since it was sitting under the tree plus under a BIG limb..

You guessed it, winds came, broke the tree and plopped the big limb about 100 feet from teh tree. On the tractor...

I'm still cutting trees and need to cut more that are to close to houses/barns etc....

I'm with you, I don't have anything that could fall on the house.

I wish I was at that point... house is fairly safe, moms is fairly safe but another barn isn't. Same for my old taxidermy shops that will likely be our winter housing in the future... have to stay on top of those things..
