The short Indian guy that was probing my ass got them while he was in the neighborhood. Seriously, don't remember a thing. They tell you ahead of time about the amnesia drugs, and also that while you are on them - you won't do anything you wouldn't normally do, you just won't remember. Which makes the whole "bowel monkey" thing all the better. Wife said that I had to "pass air" as the nurses put it, but I didn't feel, "excuse me, you don't want to stand on that side of me; I need to pass air." was going to adequately describe the event. I negotiated down from "I hope the wall paint can withstand a chemical attack."

The guy that probed my ass was a little Indian guy too. Think it's the same dude? They are sending the polyps to the lab. any cancerous cells at all (which he doubts) will be 1 year. non cancerous but of a type typically known to turn cancerous will be 3 years. (his opinion) otherwise, 5. I don't know if its the same guy or not. I understand they mass produce these guys in Mumbai.

I had my first one at 45 and clean, second one at 53 and they found 2 non-C polyps. Family history also.
Doing the colonoscopy is mandatory for anyone that claims they love their family/living. Just do it.

Had my first (and only) about 10 years ago - non-medicated.
The doc looked like a cross between Mark Twain and Einstein, miniature version. He was all of 5'2" tall.
During prep, the nurse asked if I had any problems, and I answered that there was a song that wouldn't leave my head. She about split her sides when informed it was the theme song from "Candid Camera"
