My Truglo sights are identical to the sights on a Rem700. They work sort of like Weaver style bases. They are wedge shaped and clamp the sides of the rib which also creates a downward clamp.

Four screws on the front sight and four on the rear. Fast on the draw also, I'll squirrel and duck hunt with them with no worries.

regarding the speed bead, a video mentions slight modifications to the stock to allow the stock to accept the speed bead, any alterations required?

Roger, it sounds like your tru-glo's would mount quickly and easily, a couple of screws? would these screws possibly mar, scuff or compromise the camo coatings on shotguns?

you are over thinking this one. I'm on year 5 with my Burris Fast Fire II without an issue and the same battery that came in the package. The battery was rated for 10,000 hours of use.

The screws never actually touch the gun. The wedge clamp design gets a helluva bite but I doubt it would mar the finish.

Speed Bead and FFIII. Best combo I've ever used on my 870. Works well for any application. Currently using for spring turkey, but tried swinging on a few clays and had no problem. Keeps you low to the barrel for a very good mount.

The sight set up on the speed bead keeps the rig low and out of the way. That really minimizes snags on clothing, brush in the field or the gun case.

My guess is that with the Speed Bead you don't have to raise the comb height? Many other sight options are going to require some method of adding comb height for a good mount and solid cheek weld.

this speed bead mount so close to your eye,

Just seems like there would be tons of parallax, No?

Without magnification would there be parallax?

What would magnification have to do with a single focal point being very close to your eye?

I've never heard of parallax being a problem with dot type sights. Yes the dot seems to move with changing your head position but after the sight is zeroed and the dot is on target so are you. Maybe it is parallax but with dot sights it doesn't cause a miss like with a scope can.
