I have posted three lots of loose and layered, but still useful, mammoth ivory. Anyone who is interested in trying this material, as well as those who have considerable experience, these lots each contain a few pounds of ivory with plenty of practice and experimental material. Each lot contains enough material for several pairs of scales for smaller knives as well as, perhaps, some larger scales.
