Here is a photo of the bird I shot this morning. Called him in with the call I make, my Northern Scratchbox, which a couple dozen Campfire members have purchased. (Go here.)

Stats:
1 1/8" spurs. He's hanging by his spurs on my dogwood tree.
9" beard.
Only 15 pounds. That's the lightest adult gobbler I've ever shot. But spur length and sharpness says he's probably a 3-year old.

Called him in while "sneaking and speaking" (a more accurate description than "running and gunning"). The woods were silent until 8:45, and then a gunshot across the valley seemed to get him to shock-gobble. I got positioned at about 8:50 and after my 870 roared at 9:05, the woods were DEAD silent.
