http://www.red-wing.org/mobile/deerhuntprogram.htmlNo damn shrub is worth having a fawn starve to death after someone killed the mother. I also drive those roads a lot and see very few dead deer and this state is lazy when it comes to picking up the dead ones. Who ever came up with a April start date needs starved half to death and then a wolf put on their azss so it can eat until they bleed out. What's you thoughts? If you agree with me please let the city hear it.

That is f'ing stupid.
OTOH, if they hired sharpshooters to cut down the deer population in a hurry, the hunters would be crying about that.

Very true. At least most of the hunters I know wouldn't shoot a doe with a young fawn. The same can't be said about the sharpshooters. I'd rather see the right group of people get together and trap / relocate a bunch of prego does to the north woods.
I for one will be waiting until 8-1-2016 then it's game on for the velvet buck I've always dreamed of.

I used to bow hunt with Metro Bowhunters Resource Base. We did what needed to be done. I have hunted in parks, cemeteries. Power plants. You name it. I have killed fawns because there were to many for the habitat. To bad if you don't like it. I loved it.
I like to do my hunting BEFORE I pull the trigger! There is only one kind of dead, but there are many different kinds of wounded.

I have no problem hunting anywhere or with killing them with spots. I do have a problem with someone shooting a female and leaving week old fawn to starve to death. If you don't have a problem with that, you need a adjustment between the ears. To me that is on par with gut shooting them with a 22 just so they run off to die on the neighbors property.
It would probably help more to let us take more than 1 deer a year on the state land surrounding Red Wing during the regular bow and gun season.
