Does anybody have the 3 barrel combo?

You can get the 455 in .22lr, .22WMR and .17HMR. combo package. Is this the way to go or should I get a dedicated caliber?

The 2 455's that I have bought have only been set up with .22lr. I did pick up a .22wmr barrel and the barrel swap is real easy to do.

Depends on your rimfire stable. I bought a 455 and 3 barrel combo when it first came out. I already had several 22lr and 22WMR rifles but had never tried the 17 HMR. I installed the 17 barrel and liked it enough that I have never taken the other 2 barrels out of their packaging.

Switch barrels are fun in theory but you'll just end up with a bunch of barrels not getting used.

I've got a pretty early 455, and the more I shoot it, the less I like it, especially after buying a 452. I've got all three barrels, and as of yet, haven't found that it's not all that great a shooter with ANY of them. It does tolerably well with the LR barrel, but the .22 WMR barrel is not impressing me at all.
Right now, mine is set up in .22WMR, because I've never owned a WMR rifle before, and I wanna mess with it some. It is my .22 Hornet's poor cousin at the moment.

I've got a really great shooting Marlin in ,17HMR, so the HMR barrel is kinda unnecessary, too.

If I were doing it again, I'd have got the one barrel and called it good.

Yeah the more I think about it, the more I think the 452 in 22lr will get the most use

When I used to hang out at RFC, there were kinds of posts on tweaking 455 barrel screw torque for best accuracy. Kinda at odds with the concept of easy barrel swapping .......or my idea of fun.

Found my .17.. I guess I would stick with the 452's, because I might want to shoot all three calibers in one sitting.. Lot of barrel swapping.. Plus, I can't see how that would make for an accurate rifle.. Just my idea.

Agreed. The switchable barrels is a novelty to me. I have 455's, but don't change the barrels. Your zero is going to change every time you change calibers, so I really don't see the point.

In my situation it is worth having. I have the 22lr and 17 barrel. I do not change them frequently, but I do switch them out certain times of year depending on what I'm shooting and hunting. Both of mine are very accurate. It is not somethings I would want to do every week, but a few times a year I switch to 17. Worth it to me unless I start needing 17 more often. Then I will buy a dedicated 17.

if a 22lr will cover your rimfire needs, don't buy the other barrels cause you will never use them. Just buy the 452

I have three 452s; two 22LR and a 17. The standard 22 will shoot .5 MOA to 150 yards, the furthest I have tried. The 17 will do .75 MOA to 175- also the longest range I have benched it. I left the Mannlicher unscoped and have no idea how good it shoots. I have several buddies with 455s and none of them shoot nearly as good. I think you give something up for the portability.

I have a bull barreled 452 in .22lr. It is the Varmit version and it is a great shooter. I have never owned a 455 so I don't know if it is an improvement over the 452.
I'm not sure what the difference between the two is besides the interchangeable barrels.
