The current occupant says we can sell military weapons to our communist trading partners. One has to wonder what they can buy from U.S. that China would not sell them, cheaper. Of course the O still does not like us to be armed.

Given the ongoing tensions around the South China Sea, this could (operative word there) end up being a good strategic play - if we get leaders with balls in charge.
America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

Unfortunately I doubt the Vietnamese have the cash to purchase and deploy enough to really protect their rights in the SCS.

The Vietnamese are not on very good terms with Communist China, and have not been for decades! As for Arms Sales, well my guess they don't want to buy junk! How much will that is the question, they can't afford much I would think.
