Need a new Binocular(8x32).

Been considering the Leupold BX-3 Mohave 8x32.

Can I do better on a budget of $300?

Please, only respond if you've had actual "hands on" experience with the 8x32 Mohave.

Thanks,

Leftybolt

I had the BX-3 for my boys but have switched to the Sightron SII Big Sky 8x32 and they like them much better. I personally like the image flatness and eye relief of the Sightron over the Mohave. I think I paid 180.00 each for them.

I see they have them here http://www.opticsplanet.com/sightron-sii-blue-sky-8x32-binoculars-rubber-armored.html

I think you will be pleasantly surprised,

Sorry...just read the "hands on about the Leupolds". Please disregard with my apologies.

I have a set of Vanguard ED II that I would sell. They are very impressive for the price, well under your $300 budget. Take a look at the review below.

Nikon Monarch 7 8X30's. I have owned Nikon LX Premier 8x32's and Zeiss Conquest HD 8X32's - these are every bit as sharp. Nice compact package with good ergonomics, nice tight focus wheel and good rubber armor. Only complaint is some flare when glassing toward the sun. Not bad but not as good as elite binos. These are also $300 and not $2500. Class of the field in the $300 range IMO. Only experience with the Leupolds was in the store.

Since centershot brought up the Nikon Monarch 7 8X30's I will chime in. After comparing several I chose these. They gave the most for the least.

I bought a pair of Nikon's MONARCH 7 8x30's last year for watching my son's football practice from my airconditioned truck on 100+ deg. days here in Texas.
I also haul them out to the duck blind and while turkey hunting. The compact size over the 8x42 is nice and the MONARCH glass is great along with the price. Even though I do freelance work for Nikon I still have to buy products I plan to keep, the MONARCH 7's definitely fit into that catagory. I use the Premier 10x25's when I travel, they drop into any bag easily and are light weight so that putting them in your carry on isn't an issue.

I have the 10x32 Mojave Leupolds and like them. Half the weight and about as good optically as my 1993 Leicas.
