There is one for sale here locally. About brand new.

Any opinions of them? Accuracy?

Thank you,
RAS

All of the short-throw Marlin lever actions that I've owned, Models 56, 57, and 62, have had crappy triggers. I think that they are heavy, "clunky", and much prefer the Winchester 255.

I thought it was a lot of gun for a 22 Mag. Then again, I would not turn down a pre-64 Model 70 in 22 Hornet if the price was right. smile

Again, the gun is in great shape. I guess I am trying to figure out if they have a reputation for being decently accurate.

They are Marlins, so it is generally assumed that they will shoot.

I know that they are favored by some of the rimfire Cowboy Silhouette shooters. I saw several of them at the last match I attended and was told they are very accurate.

Never had one, but nice looking rifles. Always figured they were popular because they looked a lot like a Savage 99.

I like Savage 99s which is why it drew my attention, along with the high condition. And of course, 22 Mag. smile

I had one when I was about 15.. It shot great.. The only Marlin .22 Mag. that I had that would not shoot super was in a model 1894.

Buy it
Shoot it
If you don't like it, sell it

One shot, one kill........ It saves a lot of ammo!
