Here is what I have measured in pounds-ounces:

Tikka factory stock 1-13
Tikka Manners T-3 EH-3T 1-11
Tikka B&C Medalist Stock 2-0

The B&C that I had was 3 ounces heavier and the Manners was 2 ounces lighter.

I had a BC for about 15 minutes and hated it. If anything, a McMillan Edge would be worth it IMHO. The things shoot so well that all you really need is a half hour and a dull soldering iron to stipple the grip.

Heavy, thick wrist, schit finish, inlet looked like termites had a hay day. Didn't think it was worth $250 especially since it bug holes in the factory handle. If I can remember my photobucket password I'll post a pic of the stippling. But don't let me rain on your parade if that's what you really want. Even the coveted "SA Ti Take Off" has made it to my schit list.

Adding a heavier stock wasn't the move I was looking for.

I used Bobby's idea with the solder gun, my job isn't pretty, but functionally it improved the grip. Sorry for the hijack

Well, still don't know the password to photobucket, but here's a link to an old thread with a pic

Tikka soldering iron stock

You'll have to excuse my obsession with diminishing returns. I've completely run out of give a schit for wasting my time and money on things that don't give me much in return. Call it boredom or whatever. I'm on a minimalist approach to lots of stuff these days and rigs anymore have become a burden, not a hobby. As has hand loading. I don't monkey past 500 on targets or 300 on stuff that breathes. No sense in worrying about what I don't need for something I'm not going to do anyway.....

Anyhoo.....way off topic.

Not sure what you are wishing to accomplish but the Tikka T3 stock is an open slate. This one didn't loose much weight but that was not the intent of the work. Sans solder irons, these can be filed, sanded, primed, textured, and painted just like anything else. Another one coming up soon but wanted to jump in... You could ask the owner Setterman what he thinks of it now but loosing that palm swell was errr swell... From prep like the top pic to whatever... More texture, less texture, bumps, less bumps - it's really wide open.

I like my B&Cs as well. THey are no McM, but for the $, I'd put them as a very high value. I have big hands, so the wrist thickness doesn't bother me.

With that said, as Boomer indicates and illustrates, the Tikka stock can facilitate if you wish to masturbate and re-create. whistle
