I would like it the BO as well if you could buy a case of practice ammo for $500 or so. However as all agree it is a great subsonic caliber. smile

On the other hand I am intrigued with the idea of a 7.62 x 39 upper and these 10-20 round magazines. Anyone make a good/reliable X39 upper with reliable BCG a chrome lined barrel? smile

The PSA's are nitrided, which is better IMO.

I wonder if they are better than 2 MOA for 5 shots with some type of decent ammunition or are they just intended for blasting ??

nitrided would lean to better accuracy in theory than most any chrome plating....

Of course my nephews cheap upper was always around MOA with Lapua brass and reloads of 125 ballistic tips... that coyote at a bit over 500 one year didn't like one of those at all. And my nephew was a bit amazed at the shot.

I bought the PSA for $219 and then got a NiB bolt from a place online that mostly just sales bcg's for around $119. So far it shoots great with asc mags and cheap Tula HP's. I got 3" groups at 100 with a 3 moa red dot sight. Ammo is less than $5 per/20 and I don't have to worry about chasing brass.

I also have a 300 blackout that I really like and it shoots great with reloads but the 7.62x39 is a lot of fun for just blasting. The Tula 122 factory stuff chronies about 2450 from my 16" PSA and my reloaded 300 Bo 16" gets 2250fps with 125 nbts.

Buy the PSA and just go have some fun.

What is the big hold-up with the 7.62x39 velocity-wise? Just looking at capacity, it looks really under loaded throwing a 125 at 2,400fps. Seems like it ought to be doing at least 2,600.

I think the AK & SKS rifles (and SAAMI ammo) are limited to 40,000 CUP or thereabouts. In a bolt gun or a single shot, 2600 is easy. BTDT.
