We'll be a dealer. They're a month or so out though.

I looked at one at the show today as well. Looks a lot like a Forbes/NULA stock to me. The action had a few changes, not sure I like the dark trigger guard with the stainless action, but I could live with it. I will buy one.

SAS, Do you know the actual price not the MSRP?

I do not need a 6.5 Creed, I do not need a 6.5 Creed, I do not need a 6.5 Creed, I do not need a 6.5 Creed...

Dammit, I like the looks/specs of these. Is a street price of $1500-$1600 too much to ask for?

Anyone know if they are free floated or if they will have a full length bedded barrel?

I spoke to Mr. Forbes today and he is not involved. So almost an entirely new venture for Barrett. I guess everything is done in house.

Not knocking Barrett, or Melvin's action, but a fella could bed a Montucky and save money. Or rebarrel, if needed/desired, for the same or less monies? And, it seems that this rifle is NOT a NULA.

More options/brands/etc. is a good thing, but how does this action compare to a Montucky? What's this rifle bringing to the table, other than a more closed grip? Faster twist?

1. Extraction? Rem 700 or M16 style?

2. How robust is the bolt stop?

3. How does it handle stray gas (case rupture, or pierced primer)?

4. Is the bolt 1-pc? If not, how does the handle attach?

The fact that it has a left hand option makes it more interesting to me when compared to a kimber! I have no idea why kimber refuses to make a lefty.

And since I have not actually looked this new action over I can't answer your other questions. I would assume all of it is just like a NULA or Forbes action but that would just be speculation at this point for me.

The twist rates are quick in all of them and that with the 3" mag box brings a lot to the table. I like the Montana (a lot) and you can rebarrel them to any twist you want, but you can't grow the mag box.

Hard to argue with the 3" box, or the lefty option for those that need it.

Really nice setup. The stock design looks close to a NULA, which if so would be a deal killer for me. Regardless, I would like to handle one.

Damn, just saw this. Glad to see someone has a clue.

Obviously the Yankees can't figure twists out. Good on Barrett.

I bet the guys at Barrett were laughing their asses off when LAW rifles came on here without a clue.

No doubt. Wonder how things are over at LAW, speaking of them.

Anyone hearing anything more on these? I know they said they would be available for "hunting season." Our season starts in a month ... 😊

I called and spoke to Barrett and they said "likely December." So maybe "their" hunting season. 🙈
