Gangs? Either mexican or white supremists. Graduated to rifles instead of pistols. Story says "assault" AR15 but who knows. Could have been Win 30-30s.
Way too bad a bystander was killed. Justice (whoever lost a family member will not have any) will be slow and ill applied. I wonder if these guys have any feeling for their own families? Maybe putting grandma, mom, and the kids all in the poor house too would make them think. Except that makes me just like Kim Jung Oon.

The caption said that the cop was very lucky to have not been hit. It said that the gun was thought to be an AR15 but an AK is more likely judging from the bullet hole sizes.

The padding in 2 seats should slow a light bullet down considerably. An AR15 in 308 maybe? The holes are oblong, the bullets having come in at a low angle. This may distort our perception of their size.

As guys have mentioned earlier, about race. There was a case in the north Austin/RoundRock/Cedar Park area a few years ago. Some homeowner shot a young guy for supposed trespassing.
What the media left out was the shooter was an A rab. I was told this by a former neighbor of his. She said he was nuts, he would patrol his yard as if he wanted a confrontation.

The first shooter seems to have started randomly shooting on the street. The second may have been a "good guy" civilian. Just from what has been read.
There may be a lesson here for us: if we engage someone away from our own home, be aware that the police will not be able to distinguish us from any bad guys. Remember, they at times shoot plain clothes cops who were in a poor situation.

The craziness inherent in the whole initial presentation, e.g. two guys shooting it out take a break to shoot at the locals and L.E., had the distinct smell of this being a possibility.

It's the Keystone cops down there. The cops found a suspicious backpack and blew it up. They then just left it there where a television crew later found it. Then the cops came back and collected "the evidence".
It appeared to be a pretty typical "bugout" bag that probably lots of people on this board have.

The medical examiner on Monday identified the deceased victim in the shooting as Eugene Linscomb.
Second "shooter" was a citizen trying to stop the shooter, has been reported.

Damned confusing indeed,....
....and regardless of how well one "reads", ....it's pretty hard to get a handle on a current event when presented breathlessly by someone who can't WRITE a coherent sentence.
Hoping the Samaritan walks out of that hospital sprightly and appreciated for his efforts,...

If it was a Samaritan I wonder how many lives he may have saved. We will never know and if they could figure it out it would not be reported. Did I in some way infer that it WOULD ? Who shot WHOM seems to be the question, and getting a straight answer as to that certainly does seem a bit dicey. GTC

As usual the Daily Mail already has a pretty decent story setting all out and naming the Wilson guy as a Good Samaritan who "fought back" while the American media is more or less completely silent. They have pictures and quotes from family and all that while the US press mentions nothing. The media in this country is as bad as the old Soviet Union. It is amazing.
