Hey all, maybe someone here can help. I have this squeek/screech sound coming from the front end of my F-150. when I put it into 4wd it stops.
I replaced the vacuum actuator switch and both front actuators and it still makes the noise. I've brought it in several times and the repair shop says the vacuum lines are fine, but it's not disengaging the 4wd completely and I don't want to have to keep replacing the front end actuators.

anyone have any advice?

Ryan

This is easily fixed with a Chevy.

they only had one "universal" vacuum check valve at the store in town, had to tape one end a bit to get it to fit snugly, seems to work a lot better now. the right valves are on the way in the mail now. I'll replace my crutch one when they get here.

so glad I finally found what was wrong with the damn thing!

Something I've learned here. Fords are bad. Chevy's are bad. Dodges are bad. Toyotas are good but they don't make a 3/4 ton so they're bad. Only a wheelbarrow is good and then only when it has a radial tire.

I had come to the conclusion that KLR motorcycle was good, everything else bad.

I missed the wheelbarrow thing.

grin

Something clever here.
