Maryland has it's National Scholastic Trap Program championship this past Saturday and I had two of my scouts competing. After the shooting I was able to try a young shooters Browning 725 12 ga sporting with 30 inch barrels.
I am a Beretta guy thru and thru yet Browning has a "Winner" with this shotgun. I shot 1/2 box from the 16 yard line using a low gun mount simulating sporting clays, The shotgun swings extremely well and the recoil is very very soft....I primarily shoot 20 gauge in my own guns.
I am thinking a Browning 725 in 28 ga with 32 inch barrels would be a HOOT.

Thanks for the report. I was just getting ready to ask if anyone here had experience with one of these. Had my eye on one lately and have a couple of rifles that aren't getting used, so might have to make it happen.

I have always looked at Browning as a field gun company but they have really upped their target gun game, so much so that I just bought a 32 inch Crossover. Great all-arounder IMO, really does everything well and looks to be built to last.
I almost bought a 725 till I ran across the gun I ended up buying. The CX/Crossover is the best buy in the market for a target scattergun IMO.

Curious - why 32" barrels with a 28 ga?

Balance and the fact they swing and move better than shorter on clay targets, would be my first thought.
Addition: Short barrels start quick, but also stop quick. OK on snap shots. Not so OK on crossers, especially those with a little distance. Longer, with a little weight forward will smooth out the follow through.

Balance and the fact they swing and move better than shorter on clay targets, would be my first thought. I agree, but it also depends on WHICH clays game one is playing.. I don't think I'd want 32'ers on a skeet 28.. Maybe that's just me.. On sporting clays, it might depend a bit on the field layout.. Only comp gun I ever had with 32s was an SKB M700 Trap and that baby'd reach out there when the load was right.. But I'd hate to try that particular arm at a skeet range.. FWIW..

Not just you, most wouldn't want that length for serious skeet, but I've shot it recreationally for sporting practice and with the exception of station 8 not that much of a handicap.
Haven't come across any SC courses here locally that 32's would be a detriment.
Spent 3 hours today picking up shells and listened to the Congressional hearing. Comey bailed on Hillery, however for those that listened she was fried crispy. Republicans need to run with it every day. Blurbs, video clips, the entirety of it. Minority voters for the most part could care less. I hope the younger voters pay attention. I'm thinking the independent voters will along with any rational thinking women.
