You could make a .264 mag on a Browning BLR if you were thataway inclined. One of these is a .284, don't remember which one.

Don't suppose he could have meant 256 Winchester Magnum?? I think Marlin made some rifles in that little oddball.

probably a win 88 in 264. I think everyone's a little dyslexic??? when it comes to 264/284. The 256 Mag is an interesting theory. Marlin made the model 62 in one.

Only belted magnum cartridges I've ever seen in a lever action were in Browning BLRs, and I've never seen one of those in 264 Win. Mag ; mainly 7mm Rem. & 300 Win. That doesn't mean they never made one in that cartridge though.........

The 264 mag was released in 1958, don't think they put it a lever gun.
It is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.

possibly a 1885 falling block, but would be custom

I was curious and scoured the internet, but came up empty. The BLRs were chambered for both the 7mm Rem Mag and the .300 Win mag. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to re-barrel one for a .264 Win Mag, but I could not turn up any mention of anyone doing so. I also have to note that over the last 60 years or so I have repeatedly heard of odd chamberings in rifles that were not and could not have been so chambered. People often get confused or misremember--even Me!
