Thoughts on thus gun? The 457 WWG Cartridge? A fast handling, heavy hitting 37 inch lever action rifle weighing approximately 6 ½ lbs with a six round magazine and minute-of-angle accuracy. The rifle is chambered in .457 WWG which fires a 350 grain bullet at about 2,300 feet per second. The rifle also fires all lever action .45/70 loads and single feeds a 2.5″ .410 shot shell giving the rifle a wide range of cartridge power making it extremely versatile. The rifle features our recoil control porting and Pachmayr decelerator recoil pad to produce a surprisingly comfortable recoil similar to a 12 guage shotgun HaYen

Anything WW Guns has to do with would always be on the absolute bottom of my want list. Jim is one of the biggest azzhats that ever drew breath.
He fired the other one...

Sounds like a very expensive 45/70 that can fire .410 shotshells. Never had a need to do that with my 45/70s.

All of the above posts - Screw WWG! I'd pick up a 45/70 GG and install big loop lever and XS peep sights and go hunting! That's what I did..

Back in the 90's I picked up a standard 1895 (you don't need the 457WWG, save the money. 430 grain Buffalo Bore HC will kill dinosaurs. You don't want a ported rifle, waste of money and they spit stuff all over the place. Frankly I prefer the pistol grip vs the straight grip, gives you more control with heavy loads (if that's what you want to shoot). Mine has the Pachmayer Decelerator and it works just fine. I also love the XS sights (get the ones with wings). Because mine was blue and that's all that was made back then I had it sent to Metalloy to have mat chromed. Most people can't tell the difference and holds up very well. Order the WWG ejector and install it. I don't care for their lever, the standard one works just fine. Buy one that's all ready very close to what you want and have the few mods done, and save money and be happy. I can't imagine somebody needing to have theirs as a take down either.

Their Marlin accessories however, are excellent. The bearproof ejector, aluminum follower, and trigger are all terrific improvements over OEM parts. The trigger regularly produces a nice, crisp 2.5# or less pull with no creep or trigger flop.

pick up a Marlin 18" Guide Gun...older JM... tweak it...clean it & polish innards....add Bear proof ejector these are one piece...slide better through the bolt..different spring angle....metal mag follower better than OEM plastic... 45-70 is much easiler to find ammo and or components one like this...... ![[Linked Image]](http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g426/tikkanut/008_zpsebvryyoc.jpg)

I have a WWG Happy Trigger in my Marlin .45-70 and am very happy with it. I would consider the Bearproof ejector and metal follower if I was going hunt DG or in extreme cold.
Ported barrel? No thanks. Someone said they spit stuff everywhere and I can attest to the truth of that.
As to the .457WWG, no thanks. My 1895 will do everything I want and then some. 350g North Fork @ 2181fps and 460g WFNGC hardcast at 1812fps pretty well covers my hunting needs for anything in North America - and probably any place else.

I just put some 457 Wild West HSM ammo on Gunbroker since I sold my rifle. HSM (Hunting Shack) 350 grain Kodiak at 2250 fps, nickel cases.
