Same.

0 for 3 here.

Which is no surprise.

35 years of applying for M, S, and G and ONE goat tag to my name.

Dammit, I suck. smile

all three of us struck out on our sheep application.

Didn't put in for moose or goats.

When do they draw for bison?

I really want to poke a hole in a buff by the park.

Good luck Pat. If you are hunting mountain goats in the same unit you helped my wife out with a few years ago, I am happy to return the favor with info as I hunted it last year. My buddy drew it this year so I will be down there scouting again for his hunt. Looking forward to seeing your hunt unfold.

You don't need a tag for that.

Max points +1.........

You gotta remember they are 'bonus' points...not preference points. Sooooooooo, basically meaningless...except to F&G as a fundraiser....

I haven't looked but I have heard you no longer get even a partial refund if you don't draw....T or F?

No, there is a seven year wait before you can apply again, if you draw a sheep, goat, or moose permit. I drew a goat permit back in 1977. The bonus point system was established in 2000.

Has anyone actually gotten a bison tag for West Yellowstone? I am in an advantageous position with the cow/calf roster hunt and would be interested in anyone who has poked a hole in buff by the park (ie, shot a bison . . .. )

I'll be using my 6.5 SAUM for the goat. Probably with 130gr JLK's at 3300fps. I may try to kill the swamp donkey with my bow....if that doesn't work out, I'll use the 6.5.

I'm 0 for 3 this year; which, by the way, takes me to about 0 for 90 +/- for my lifetime (throw in my kids and its 0 for 120 +/-). I guess I should look at it positively, at least I'm batting 1000.

I use .580 for my .2603000fps. A bit higher for the SAUM for the extra speed. It's a great bullet. It reaches the destination in a hurry at 3300!

Thank you sir, I will try that info. I got a small batch and Only fired one 3 shot group with them ,using my Berger load. 2.5" at 415 yds, made me want to know more.

Matt----Mine jumped down an avalanche shoot. Busted both horns, seems like a lot of them do a death jump. How were his pantaloons? I wished I had done a half mount with mine.

Mine never took a step, he was dead before he hit the ground, just rolled a bit... No broken horns thankfully! He was a middle aged billy, not young but not old, he has nice horns but his body wasn't huge so I'm doing shoulder mount that includes the shins(?) but not the feet.
