I picked up an interesting old case office knife from a gentleman on ebay, it is a CASE BRADFORD,PA. and was in as new unsharpened condition.
For US $35.00 it is a real steal and has taken a very good edge, point of fact I cannot see any difference between how it takes an edge and how the Case XX and Case USA do.

3 3/4" long with celluloid scales, with ever so slight shrinkage of the celluloid and slight peppering from the celluloid gassing off over the years.

I shall be taking it to work for opening boxes and such.

Small update on the Case, I have used it at work and cut up a dozen heavy cardboard boxes plus sundry plastic/shrink wrap and miscellaneous items.
The blades have not lost any of their bite, and the slim profile of the knife allows it to nestle very well in the front pants pocket without being uncomfortable or obvious.

All in all it is a very good using knife that cost almost nothing...and it amuses me to carry something that was made in the early part of last century.

I do confess to a weakness for earlier Case.

Each was mint when acquired, and are rotated for use depending on the job.

LINK to Case pattern numbers...whilst not definitive it is very good.

VERY nice!

Case and Zippo are two of the few companies that when the economy hit the skids, they closed their OVERSEAS plants and kept their American operations open.

If you ever get the chane, the case/zippo museums are excellent time spent

That'd require being on the wrong side of the Potomac... wink
