Got all my arrangements made for an Eastern Shore waterfowl hunt the week before Christmas. Haven't been to Maryland to hunt geese in 18 or more years. Me, my Dad, and our old hunting buddy from years ago - really looking forward to the hunt - it's only six months away.

Sounds like a blast. Are you just goose hunting or divers too?

Geese in the morning (or until we limit) then ducks in the aftermoon.

which outfit did you book with? I booked with Black duck outfitters in Jan for Cans and sea ducks.

Limiting on the eastern shore should be pretty easy. There are tons of geese over there, and I think the limit is only 2 per day. You'll probably be in the duck blind hammering mallards and black ducks before the afternoon even starts.

Very few exciting things like hunting geese.

I did research many years ago, and made homemade small scale silhouette decoys on the advice of an old article.

It was theorized that the geese would be confused at the scale and drop
Lower to try to correct. And then blammo.

Im not sure i ever used them. Didnt make enough for a decent size spread.

Easy enough to cut out to make, but spray painting them, putting on stakes, and then sealing them becomes involved.

May want to look into Waterman's Crab House and Osprey Point Inn.
