This is cheap protection against snake bite. This is in the Houston area, but I bet these are not the only folks offering this service. Hasbeen

i run across road killed rattle snakes on my way to work

i stop, pick them up and throw in freezer.

i take out of freezer, defrost, attach to fishing pole with mono and train dog with e collar to avoid.

Seems to work well with the bird dogs i have trained.
Disclaimer: i tend to avoid hunting in temps over 70 degrees; but i live in central WA, not Texas or Arizona. I have encountered rattlesnakes snakes hiking and huntinghere in WA and my dogs seem to to keep their distance

Ribka, that's good info. It's sounds a lot like the desnaking I've seen. Only the snakes are defanged, mouths taped shut and alive and rattling. I've run into a lot snakes in tempes way below 70. Hasbeen

It works, when I had pointers I kept the dead ones I found. De-snaked them my self.

Dogs are too valuable assets to put them in harms away.

Here's one for ya. About thirty years ago a friend and I were having what some would call a lifetime quail hunt. Birds were all over the place and were holding for the dogs. We made a pact that no wild bird shooting. Everything had to be on point and we had to produce the bird. I had a great Shorthair named Blazer and he was doing one heck of a job locating and holding. All at once I saw him slam into a point but then backed up a couple of steps but still holding. Decided not to kick and produce the bird as something seemed wrong with his point. Thought maybe he had hooked into a skunk. Upon inspection it was almost 4 ft long and never buzzed. My partner said the color drained right out of my face.
