good afternoon; Ihave an ar10 in 260 rem.My problem is seating depth. The col by hte book is 2.80 or what the mag will allow.I'VE saeted the bullets(Berger,Lapua, Sierra)to 2.80 but I hear crushing of the powder and the bullet is seated more in the case than not. I"ve not fired the rifle yet and don't want to blow myself or the rifle up. Thanks in advance. LED

Compressed loads are not a big deal.

You are freaking out over nothing.

But they may require crimping to prevent bullet movement over time, resulting in a longer and inconsistent COL, which can cause a variety of problems.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.

A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

I've compressed loads until the case bulged and never run into this issue.

By and large this is just more internet BS.

I've had compressed loads push bullets in the 260 on several occasions. Bought a Factory Crimp Die and haven't seen any more issues.

what bullet & powder are you using?

You probably don't have a problem, as long as you are within book guidelines for powder & charge weight
