I shot a feral cat just before dark. I will predict he didn't get far after being hit with a 50 gr VMax. We will see in the morning.

He didn't recover it. Must not have used enough gun.

Or have a long enough barrel. An extra 50-100fps could have made the difference.

After I finish my coffee I will go find it. There was blood and hair and the track leads to the thick stuff. Woods is really thick this time of year. Maybe I saved a grouse from being killed? I need more practice on running shots. Next time I will try the new Ruger AR556.

How do I post a picture with my cell phone? The beast managed to make it about 10 paces through very thick cover. It was a gut shot/back leg shot. I knew the Swift would not let me down! whelennut.

The proper way to kill cats is in a hide over bait. Almost dark and one moment there is nothing and the next like a ghostly apparition they silently appear. Eyes glowing while with extreme caution they decide if the dangling ball of catnip is safe to paw. A good scope is mandatory and you can't go wrong with a Leupold 6x42 with heavy duplex.

Shouldn't have been any guts or back legs with a Swift.

The proper way to kill cats is in a hide over bait. It's a lot easier around here.... Just drive over to Rez and cruise the bar ditches....you don't even have to get out of the truck.... It's especially rewarding when the game birds are nesting.....
