Muddy, I've had one w/my 7x57AI. The case was one I started load development w/in the rifle so it had probably been stressed from previous firings. Some were too hot in the initial load development. There was not a head space issue as I partial full length size. Upon firing, I knew something wasn't right but I did not get any gas or powder in the face. After getting the body and neck of the cartridge out I inspected my chamber carefully and luckily had no damage. Couldn't even tell there had been a rupture. I know they're all different under different circumstances but mine proved not to be a problem. powdr

With a separation i think that there is a large release of gas out the muzzle. I have had a few, mostly savage 99 250sav and there were no marks on the chamber, same with a 250 sav ai that was not chambered right.Once re-chambered it does not do anymore.
