My wife and I went out today for a little time together. We stopped at the LGS and I left with this: Marlin 336Y

A really nice clean Marlin, add a scope and some Remington 170 gr core-lokts and you will be ready for deer season.

i think thats what they call the spikehorn. nice little guns with a youth stock. i'd swap it out with a full sized and hunt the hell out of it.

Dang that's purty. LGS I'm guessing is local gun store. Congratulations on the find.

I picked this Spikehorn up in 2003, from Bass Pro in Ft. Lauderdale. $265 out the door. It shoots the 170 grain bullets best, giving consistent MOA at 150 yards or less. It has been a good deer and hog rifle in the heavy cover and swamps I hunt.
Scope is an elderly Redfield 20mm, 1-4X.

Mannlicher, Nice looking rifle and I like your scope choice. I picked up a Leupold FXII 3X20 to put on my Spikehorn. I hope to mount the scope this week and get to the range in the next couple of weekends.
