"I believe Donald Trump could lose Utah. If you lose Utah as a Republican, there is no hope," said former Utah Gov. Mike Leavitt, a top campaign adviser to the GOP's 2012 nominee, Mitt Romney.
The poll found that may well be true. Utah voters said they would reject Trump, the GOP frontrunner, whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is the Democratic candidate on the general election ballot.

If non-Mormons could put their religious differences aside and vote for Romney, Mormons should equally be able to vote for Trump based on issues and not on whether he is a member of their cult. And I think enough of them to believe they will.

I don't think so. Lots of family and friends in Utah, and to a man, they're backing Trump, even those who voted for Obummer previously. Salt Lake is the 3rd queerest city in the U.S. right behind San Francisco and Portland, so polling there will show liberal tendencies, but that doesn't accurately depict Utah overall.

If Hilary wins Utah then it'll be a landslide everywhere else too. I keep hearing AZ is going blue too. I don't buy it, yet, but the day AZ and Utah go blue is the day the Republican Party is buried for good.
