I have been offered one for $700 that is NIB. $700 seems like a good price to me, what do you guys think, deal or no deal?

If you want a lightweight rifle chambered for the 6.5x55, I think that it's a good deal. If at all possible, I would see if you can shoot it first.

The Left Handed Forbes rifles were $1000 each when Barrett was clearing out their Forbes inventory. NIB for $700 is a steal...

Will Melvin take the rifle in for repairs/upgrades like he does with CLRs? If not, I would pass.

You may not need Melvin to do any work but it might have a negative effect on retained value if that is a concern.

Yeah, that is a great deal. They're not worth what they initially cost (is anything) but they are worth that. They are super super light and have great ergos. And, yes, Melvin will work on them. He repaired the bolt in mine free of charge. He is a great guy.

That's a great deal - PM me and let me know where it is if you don't buy it.

I have a couple and they are great shooters. If you have any issues, NULA will make it right.

Melvin was very helpful with the issue I had.

What a score. Mine needed some minor tweaks like bolt lapping and polishing some burs off the feed ramp. But at that price you can't loose even if you re-barrel and let Melvin tune it up.

Really liking the 6.5. I haven't shot one since I was a kid and used a M38 with the bolt on the wrong side. Forgot what a well balanced round it is.
