Another vote for velocity. $135 and made by a Timney family member who worked at Timney for years then ran trigger mfg for Knight's. Billet unit instead of the bent sheet metal like the cmc's. Basically a $200 Timney for $135

I have been paying close attention to this thread. I ordered a velocity trigger on the recommendation of a couple people on this thread. Ordered it Friday and got it at 10 A.M. this morning (Monday). Got it installed and ready to rock n roll. I ordered a 4lb because I read somewhere if you shoot steel case ammo, you might need the extra pound pull. Called them and asked and they concurred, "might not hurt". Very smooth and a big improvement over what I had.

It's pretty crisp. A little heavy for my taste compared to the Timney on my 7mag or the acutrigger on my 7-08. But I understand it needs to be stiffer. I'll be shooting it in a couple days.

I'm not after anything here, just wanting clarification that its eitehr crisp as breaking a glass rod, or has some movement/ IE creep to it.

At some point I want to try the best single stage out there. if it has creep, then its not worth me wasting my time or money as i can get to creep free with a 60 buck RRA trigger.

I understand what you want. The trigger has NO creep, zero, just a little heavier pull than I like. I guess the pull weight being 4lbs is the only thing I'm bummed about. Remember, this AR is an entry level for shooting intruders if we do have a SHTF. Not a hunting rig. Just like my mini-30. Would I buy another trigger like this, yes, in a heart beat, but I would get the 3lb and shoot my reloads.

Does this answer your question. (I'm not trying to be difficult.)

Yep, thanks.

I will shoot intruders with what I have handy at the time. Some have triggers in ounces, some in pounds. LOL.

3 pound single stage is probably the safest I'd go low wise... unless you go 2 stage which is all we've ever run on ARs, even the house ARs have 2 stage on them.

Since we shot a LOT of combat type matches and a lot of IDPA carbine matches with 2 stage we are good with them.

But its good to know there is zero movement before it goes off. Will file that in my data book.

Blue,

I'm seriously considering an AR Gold as well.

I look forward to your field report!

I've bought and tried a LOT of single and 2 stage stage AR triggers and for the $120 or less Rise Armament is hard to beat for single stage.

For 2 stage triggers I haven't shot anything yet that's better than an AR Gold. Geissele Hi Speed National Match and DMR are a close 2nd.

I ended up ordering 2 of the Rise Armament triggers at $99 and free shipping from AIM Surplus (thanks Doug!) - will try them on a Colt 5.56 and a Noveske 300BO.
