Those are damn good barrels, from what I've seen. Is yours finicky? I shot mine today with it's factory target barrel and the damn thing is so finicky it makes me want to throw it out into the woods as far as I can with one type of ammo, and cherish it with the other kind. Seriously, if I tried to use good hollow point hunting ammo in it for shooting rats and gophers, they'd laugh at me. On the other hand, If I use Lapua S/K match grade ammo, the damn thing is going to win rimfire competitions (shoots consistent sub moa 10 shot groups). Mines a biotch though and like a high maintenance woman, likes the finer things in life: It has expensive taste. With this being said, my "ideal 10/22" would be one that shot good with all kinds of ammo!!!!!!!!!!!!! mad

I still think the 50th Anniv should have been a black synth version of the fingergroove with stainless bbl/silver receiver and trigger group.

But Ruger does stupid chit.

This is my version of wareagle700's ideal 10/22. While I have another that is more accurate this one shoots several sub sonic loads under .250 inch at 25 yards. I have not shot for a group at 50 yards due to the 2X scope and old eyes. It has the same barrel but a different trigger group as Wareagle700's 10/22.

My ideal Ruger 10/22 would be a Marlin 60. That way I would have something accurate, reliable and lower-priced.

Well, its no benchrest rifle but for a 2-7 scope and 7lb 14oz trigger this isn't too bad. Some new trigger parts are on the list though.

Groups shot at 50 yards.
