I would think 9 or 10 twist, I do know my cousins pre-64 264 WM will stabilize and shoot accurately the 140 gr partitions and 160 gr woodleigh bullets. Good luck!

Definitely 1 in 9. My pre 64, in 264 shoots 140 partitions well. I have two Sako's in 264 with 26 in barrels. They like the accubond 140's a little better. I shot quite a few 140 Bergers, but didnt like them on game.

I have 2 rugers chambered in 264 win mag I have the M77 Tang that's a 1-9 twist an I have a hawkeye that's a 1-8 twist. I have not shot either one yet the hawkeye is new unfired, both have 24 inch barrels. Is there any suggestions on loads for these guns or bullets weights for different twist rate?
Thanks Jeremy

Mine's a '60 or '61, and I measured it to see what it REALLY is, and it is definitely 1:9 twist. It likes 140-grain Accubonds, too.

You might try some 120 grain Barnes.

140 Accubonds or Partitions with RL25 is magical in my 26" 264 Win Mag.

gunner,
You need to shoot the 26 Nosler. To me it's easier to reload for than the .264 WM. I've worked with both.
To name drop, JB reportedly sold his .264 and bought the Nosler test rifle after his report on the 26. Just saying.
rcamuglia has done a lot of work with the .264 WM and prefers RL-33.
