PS. I must have had a brain fart. Could've sworn I saw some on the shelf yesterday. The GM told me they have not had RL 16 yet. My bad.

I talked with an Alliant Powder Tech last Friday and was told that RL-16 had not been shipped yet and they did not know when it would be. Alliant has to wait on permits, etc. to start shipping per the rep.

Guys,
I can report that the Reloder 16 is packed and will begin shipping to our distributors this week. Sorry for the delays, but our plant had a maintenance shutdown for a week, and all the other priorities getting powders packed for this shoot or that customer made it difficult to squeeze this new product into the pack schedule. But that is history and you should begin seeing it at retail within the next couple of weeks. .

Only in a .260 with 130 gr Accubonds...42 grs got me to 2,800 fps vs. needing 44 grs of H4350 to get me to the same velocity. Accuracy was good.

Worked some with R 16.
It is more bulky than other powders of the 4350-ish burning rate.
.220 Swift: it seems a bit faster burning than R17 and very similar to 4451.
.30-06: it seems faster than H4350. Some loads were slower & some faster than 4451.
.358 Norma: it seems faster than H4350 and about equal to 4451.
In the .370 SAKO it gives about 100fps less velocity with the same charge of R17.
Usable in the Swift but, as yet, undecided if it is as good as my favorite R17. Research continues.
My new favorite for the ’06 – the Alliant load with 180NP and appropriate loads with 168 TTSX and 200NP (see: JBs The Rules).
Usable in the .358 – nearly as good as my favorite H4350 and at least equal to 4451.
OK in the .370 if you can settle for 286 gn bullets at 2400 with compressed loads.

I've been using quite a bit of RL16 in my 6.5 CM. All of these loads have been safe in my rifle. All three are also 1/2" loads. The Gameking loads are seated .020" off the lands and the TTSX load is .100" off the lands and compressed.
1). 42 GR with 140 Sierra Gameking
Vel:2755, ES: 33, SD: 13
2) 43 GR RL16 140 Sierra Gameking
VEL: 2810, ES: 20, SD: 8
3) 43.3 GR RL16 120 Barnes TTSX
VEL: 2877, ES: 4, SD: 2
