One foot out the door on a Cape Buffalo/Spotted Hyena combo hunt with my Canadian agent. The hunt is being conducted in areas bordering the KNP . Will hopefully be able to report back on a successful safari with some nice photos in a couple of days.

Got back late last night. Got the Buff down on day 3. Nice old Dagga boy.
Hyenas whipped us.
The drought in the area was just too severe this time around, with too many dead animals all around, so predators had enough food and could not be bothered about a bait. We did draw a lion to the boundary.
All we had coming to the bait was Leopard, Honey Badger and Civet.
I will post the photo of the Buff before the weekend is out.

With the skeletons I saw in KNP it seems the predators are eating well right now.

Thanks fellas. The hunter caught wind of this post, and decided that he will join and tell the story, so I will not steal his thunder. If he does not join, I will get on it.
The double rifle is my personal back up rifle. It is a Merkel 500N.E
I'm shooting Peregrine 570gr solids for the heavy stuff and Woodleigh 570gr RNSN for the cats.
She's gone in to have the front post replaced with a lower front sight as she was shooting quite a bit low, and should be back in two weeks. I start a Lion hunt with a hunter from Baltimore, Maryland during September, and need to get her sorted before then.
