I prefer OWB. I like the following for a G23 and a G19 better than anything else I've used:

Milt Sparks 55BN (leather)
Dale Fricke Gideon Elite (kydex)

I got a Black Hawk leather holster, it can be worn strong side or cross draw. I usually wear it as a cross draw.

I carry my Glock 19 and 17 in an El Paso Saddlery C-Force IWB. For years my favorite IWB was a Milt Sparks Versa Max II (excellent holster still), but now all I use are the C-Force. Thanks to Kevin Gibson for the suggestion of trying one. Just allows you to carry it just the way you want, vs in a predetermined fixed position, like the VM II.

C5leather Montana XLT which is similar to the Sparks VMII but more can't and thinner leather . Also am very fond of my Blackpoint Tactical wing holster due to comfort and adjustability.

For my Glock 19 I like OWB , Galco Combat Master or Bianchi 7 (when I want the extra security of a thumbbreak).

G19? Appendix carry. Holsters are as personal underwear; figure out what works best for you.

My G-23/19 sits in a MS Nexus or an old Crossbreed strongside IWB. Different, but depending on clothing for the day, both provide excellent concealment, easy and fast presentation, comfortable all day.

Thanks gentlemen for the responses. I have used a Fobus for years but my needs have changed. I was looking to narrow my search and keep from spending a fortune trying out so many to find the right one. I will check out some of your suggestions.

DeSantis Speed Scabbard...$45.00. I use it almost exclusively as an OWB holster for all my guns.

Have a brand new Crossbreed for my Glock 19, never used it, can't get used to IWB. My favorite is Comp Tac OWB paddle. I like the Kydex in warm climates and no squeak like leather, a dead giveaway that you're carrying, and it draws like butter.

Carried an H&K USP 40C in SmartCarry for 4 years. Never detected. One customer might have been suspicious, I think she spotted the grip bump, but she got a kick out of it when I said "My eyes are up here".

As I got older and fatter, IWB no longer worked well for me. I use OWB Kydex most of the time now.

OWB? Yaqui slide.
IWB? Sparks Summer Special II and right now I'm really liking the HBE Com3.

A good friend uses the Alien Gear holsters and raves about them.

I second that. OWB, I like Galco Combat Master.

deerhunter5555,

Holsters are as personal as self-defense handguns. My advice is to go to a gun show and actually try on as many as possible.

Just about all of my holsters that I actually use are made by Galco. I have a custom made holster that I cannot say is better than any Galco I own. Others like DiSantis. It's all what will work for you. Don't buy a holster that works for another. It has to work for you.

I like leather. I own no injection molded holster. Other love 'em. Again, it's all about preference.

Go with what works for you.

There's a lot of knowledge from the wise and actual holster professionals here.

I'm happy with Alien Gear. I have been using it with my Shield since last fall and I am happy with it.I bought it to tide me over until I could get a Sparks for the Shield. I haven't felt the need to change.
